And you said I shouldn't buy it...

After many, many failed attempts I have finally reached 'the mother land', ok it's not really the mother land but I couldn't think of anything cleaver to attract your attention. I have finally arrived to Branson, MO. I absolutely love it here, this is where I 'grew up' (mentally), this is where all my friends are and this is where I made my decision to go on a mission and change my life. It is so good to be back! The only downfall, I bummed a ride from my grandparents that came to visit this past week. Which means I don't have a car! OH NO! What's a boy to do?!? Have no fear, I have your answer. LONGBOARD!

This has been one of my most fruitful purchases in a long time. Since I don't have a car (including in Chicago) I need a way to transport myself from place to place. And I don't want to buy a car (which includes insurance, gas, upkeep) I decided to buy a longboard. But let me have you all know that Momma Shoeduck was completely against it, saying I don't need to waste my money on toys. Well, little did she know how useful this purchase would become. I can run to Aldi, to the family friend's house in the neighboring subdivisions, enjoy the outside, get exercise, and move furniture...wait, what?

Well in Illinois everything is flat and I have to 'push' my longboard everywhere. Needless to say, I was very excited to come to Missouri and explore and 'bomb' all the hills here. Come to my surprise, here in Branson, I would not have a car because my aunt Angie is visiting with her girlfriend, so it looks like this will be my mode of transportation here as well. Am I upset? No! I was actually thinking about how cool it would be to travel cross-country on a longboard, this will be the make or break factor to see if I want to do it.

And just for kicks and giggles, my friend Nick and I have been riding around and we have been filming us riding. This is a video I made. It is just a 'trailer' to a film  we hope to make in the future.

We really have no idea what we are doing, I bought mine a month ago, he bought his last week. We are young and naive without a single hill...we will make the best of it....and learn some tricks or two

PS. to the Momma Shoeduck that said I shouldn't buy it...how useful was it as we moved HEAVY HEAVY furniture into the preschool and the HOT Chicago heat?

BEST PURCHASE TO DATE! Well folks, I'm off to ride!
