"Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea, swim so wild and you swim so free!" -Raffi

*Note: I realize that I have abandoned my blog for more than a week and I apologize, there's a lot to catch you all up on. But lets start with last week first. End note*

So as many as you know, I've spent the better part of the last year living the 'Rock Star Life' in Branson, MO. Yes, I am very aware that I never performed nor did I actually live like a 'Rock Star', but a kid can dream can't he?!?

After moving back home and working a job that consumed all of my time (no literally it did, I've mentioned it in more elaboration in other post), all hopes and aspirations of becoming a 'rock star' started to slowly drift away, until....I was asked by Shoeduck's co-workers to accompany their preschool class at their 'graduation' ceremony. Was this my light at the end of the tunnel, my second chance, my...my...my comeback tour? Whatever it was, it was a chance to get back in the saddle. Note: Let me mention that performing with these kids was my first performance in over a year. (I use to perform at local venues all over the Chicagoland area 3-4 times a week, click HERE and walk with me down memory lane)

It was plenty of fun singing with preschoolers that didn't know the words to the song because they were to little to sing fast. We sang 'We're Going to Be Friends' by Jack Johnson. If you've every heard the song than you know that there are to many words at such a fast tempo that if little children were to sing it 1. It would sound like a bunch of kids singing with marbles in their mouths or 2. Their tongues would fall off. I'm happy to say that no children were harmed in the making or posting of this blog!

Here are a few pictures of the practices and performances. I wore my tux because that's what 'they' do in Branson. 'They' being the 'Rock Stars.' *Note: During group pictures, I had the kids attempt to make the 'horns' and yell 'Rock Star!' I highlighted the priceless faces. End Note*

This is Gavin, he is never himself. He likes to play pretend, like any 3/4 year old should. During rehearsals he was a 'stinky alien'....at the ceremony he was 'Bowser' and he was throwing fireballs at everyone all night. You can find Gavin as 'Batman', 'Hulk', Hulk-Batman', an 'alien', 'Spiderman', 'Bowser' or a 'robot' any other day of the week.

If I learned anything from this experience, I learned that if I don't cut it as a 'Rock Star' or become the next 'American Idol' I guess I'll settle with becoming the next Raffi. Watch out Baby Beluga here I come!

-Kye the future of children sing-a-long songs!
